The Old Gate Bar is a larger bar on New Dover Road in Canterbury that is open until late at night. In fact, in addition to the bar, it is a Western BBQ restaurant, even during the day. The barbecue here is very recommended, the ingredients are fresh, the variety is more, the price is reasonable, and the service is thoughtful. It is very pleasant to eat barbecue and drink beer here.

You have to book a table, you can&#39;t if you want to eat. Food was great, waiting staff were excellent. I didn&#39;t realise at the time of booking that it&#39;s also a micro-brewary. Only sampled the Canterbury IPA but it was really good. They also do tours of the brewery. Would definitely go back again.

I have been going to The Old Gate Inn on and off for many years. There does not seem to be a lot of choice but I thought I would treat my Dad as last time we had a roast there is was really good. Unfortunately the roast potatoes were roasted new potatoes not proper roasties- I can only assume they had lots left from the week before and the yorkshire puddings tasted and looked like the instant oven ones. I ask every time to be put into the restaurant side of the building and am always seated in the part where dogs are allowed. More notice of bookings need to be taken.The new manager there is working hard and very bubbly and the waiter did his best but I think was new.  I am not sure whether we will rush to go again.

Very nice restaurant bit we waited over 45 minutes for our food to arrive and it was luke warm. It was very busy in the restaurant being a Saturday lunch time but there didnt appear to be enough staff for the amount of customers.

A great place food good doors and drink, staff are always very nice and helpful.

The staff were nice especially our waitress how was lovely,really nice food we won&rsquo;t eat anywhere else from now on when we are In Canterbury,looking forward to returning have told my brother in law and his wife about it and they are going next week.

This restaurant exceeded all expectations. It had been closed for refurbishment after having the front of the restaurant badly damaged. Everything inside was brilliant. I shall definitely be dining here again soon.
